Graduates of Arkansas Community of Hope ecumenical program are Commissioned by the Episcopal Bishop of Arkansas as “Chaplains for Pastoral Ministry in the Diocese of Arkansas.” The commissioning ceremony occurs within the context of worship, as the trainees now matriculate to pastoral care givers. Graduates of the program are given a certificate, and name badge identifying them as members of Community of Hope, as well as the signing of a pledge for the work they are commissioned to do. Their work as pastoral care givers is guided from now on by the needs of their home church and their personal answer to being called to serve. The care givers however will continue to meet as a Circle of Care, joining others in regular fellowship, study and prayer, who are already serving in their churches in pastoral care ministries.
